My mother is already in Laurelwood Senior Living. I was shown all the rooms that she could be in, between the assisted living and the memory care area. The facility seems to be nice. I don't see anybody complaining about anything. The floor that she's on right now is not where she belongs, so they're waiting till tomorrow to see if they can move her down to the first floor. So far, it is a fine facility. They've got a professional chef that goes over cooking. They've got the nursing staff that helps out with the people in the memory care unit -- walking around with them, talking to them if somebody needs to be reminded to go to lunch, dinner, breakfast, and things like that -- so they come in and get them. They get different things they do on different days as far as activities are concerned. They play bingo, they sing, they paint, do different arts and crafts. I'm not happy with where she's been placed right now. She was mad when she went when they assessed her, and the questions she answered with I don't know, and that got her stuck in memory care; she shouldn't be in that section anyway. They're going to re-evaluate and hopefully move her.

Laurelwood Senior Living was an older facility. The residents seemed clean and taken care of, but they were not engaged in any activities. They were just wandering the halls. The room sizes were pretty good. I visited the dining area as well as a common area where they watch television and play some games. The staff member during the tour was very knowledgeable and knew all the residents' names.

We chose the Laurelwood for my mom. They have a podiatrist. The young lady who took us around was very knowledgeable and listened to the concerns we have for my mom who's going into memory care. The place is very clean. They have a reception desk with a person who greets you. It’s a 3-story building so it's a big building and they have the different areas such as an arts and crafts room. While we were there, the residents had pool noodles and they were batting around a balloon. They were playing some really fun music and everybody seemed to be having a really good time there. They have a nice and good-sized dining area. It's the most economical place we could get for my mom.

Laurelwood Senior Living was clean and the people that I spoke with and showed me around were very courteous and very nice. I was very impressed. The activities were very interesting and it was something that my husband would like. It seemed like a pleasant, cheerful, and not depressing place. It was very uplifting.
