My Uncle was a long term resident in this facility. He started in the Assisted Living section and as his dementia progressed he eventually moved to Memory Care. I visited him several times a week over the years that he lived there. This was an Emeritus facility when he moved in , and there were problems with keeping him clean and with theft. When Brookdale assumed ownership there was great improvement.
His room was spacious and clean, he was engaged in activities and he was content. Staff was very caring. They informed me always when he had an incident and had him checked over by a nurse, and also by hospice staff. As time went on he refused food, but they kept ensure on hand for him and enjoyed his "chocolate milk." He felt secure and safe there. He must have been difficult at times as he would walk the halls at night, sometimes all night, and could get very stubborn and feisty.
As a family member I felt that I was listened to, and most of the "problems" did not impact his overall care. There were some issues about laundry but those were resolved.
He enjoyed the musical programs and later, just bouncing balloons around the living area with other residents. He also enjoyed visits with family and on occasion would sit and reminisce about the theater, or other places he'd been.
