Mom has been at Maplewood at Twinsburg since 2019 and has received excellent care. Beautiful facility with large resident rooms, great food, and most importantly, caring staff. Mom has dementia and can be difficult at times but the staff is patient and finds ways to work around her defiant behaviors. I am so thankful that we found this fantastic facility.

My grandmother is a resident at the memory care facility and she has had a good experience. The staff is very responsive to any concerns. They also coordinate many activities to keep the residents busy.

I moved my husband to Maplewood from another facility in which we were having problems and it was the worst decision of my life to place and move him but in hindsight, I wouldn't have done it any other way. Programs are set up from morning to evening are great for the people. The residents do not always attend but they are invited and do get a fair amount attending. Allie, our program director is excellent at putting unique outings together. The residents and other familiy members seem happy with the meals as we can join in and eat together. The aides are consistent. I spend my time volunteering now because this group of people are so special and I would recommend without hesitation.

Our family always felt like our loved one was taken care of in a professional manner. It’s one thing to have a facility look pretty, but your number one reason for choosing a location is based on the care and compassion of the employees who take care of the people residing there. You don’t necessarily know that when you first arrive, but after two years of having my aunt live at Maplewood, we found this to be true. I believe her welfare and health was always a priority, especially during the period of time when Covid took over our lives..
I felt her room, looked, and had the feel of a bedroom in her home, and not at all institutional I appreciated that she was always looked after, and although her dementia prohibited her from doing a lot of the activities, she was always included in the room where others were participating. The social aspect of being included is very important, and I never felt like she was left alone and isolated.
Any time we as a family asked for anything it was always provided. They made us feel welcomed and comfortable. Even the smallest aspect of providing coffee and snacks for us was truly appreciated. It gave us time to share with my aunt.
I believe all the departments, especially admissions, front desk, the administrators, nursing staff, kitchen, personnel, and aides all appear to enjoy their work, and that makes a big difference in the care of the residence.
If the need would arrive, use this facility again in a heartbeat.

My 103 year old step father was living in an assisted living facility on the 4th floor but became overwhelmed with Sundowner Dementia memory issues. We were using private caregivers and also started him on Hospice who advised us to find a Memory Care facility that could manage his condition. It was difficult to find a place because my step father would wander around the floors at night and all the quality places we visited would not take him until we met Morgan at Maplewood at Twinsburg. Within a week we moved him to Maplewood and the care he received was first class from the staff, caregivers and nurses. My step father lived out his final weeks there and I highly recommend Maplewood.

Maplewood at Twinsburg was clean. It's away in the woods. They had a one-bedroom studio that works for my in-laws. We don't need a whole bunch of space for them. It's a picturesque setting that has good memory care. They also had good staff.

My mom will be moving into the memory care unit of Maplewood at Twinsburg this afternoon. I like everything about the place. I like the look and the cleanliness of the facility, and the people were very professional, personable, and nice. There wasn't anything I didn't like. The person who gave the tour was very personable, very nice, very knowledgeable, and very helpful too.

From the moment I walked in for a tour and was greeted by Emily, I really felt a sense of comfort. The facility is beautiful, but so is the care and the employees. My father loves the food, and he is always engaged in the programming. Julie is always getting them motivated and moving. Each time I have been there caregivers are seen treating my father like they are his as well. It makes me feel good knowing that I made a good decision in his care. With the recent restrictions in place, I feel confident not being able to be present in that he is receiving the best care possible. They also have allowed us to have electronic visits with each other, and he looks just as good as the last time I saw him so I know he is being cared for adequately. I will only refer others in my shoes to Maplewood at Twinsburg, with confidence they would treat their loved one as well as they treat mine.

My mother was here for a little less than a year and I would not recommend this facility at all. There is a very high turnover of staff. Directors of the facility are extremely poor with communication...phone calls never returned, emails take over a month to get a response. This facility pays little attention to patients who are physically mobile but struggle with memory issues. They seem to only help those who physically are unable to help themselves. This facility does not develop care plans to meet individual needs even though they will tell you they do when you tour the facility. My mother did not understand where to put dirty clothes and continued to hang them back in her closet and they were not getting washed. But when confronted with this issue, they never did anything to remedy the issue. They put out a monthly activity calendar that they rarely actually carry out the activities listed on it blaming it on short staff at the time of scheduled activities. There is very little actual variety in activities that take place from week to week. This facility also told me that they will work with patients in small groups and not force them into large group activities if it does not interest them. There was never enough staff to have small group activities. They are very quick to send patients out of the facility to hospitals and mental units when faced with challenging situations rather than working with the family and patient to address the problem and find solutions to make the patient comfortable and calm in their environment in an Alzheimer's facility which is what they should be trained to do. Instead they would prefer that the patient be put on medications to calm their behaviors. And, when my mother was sent to the hospital, the facility NEVER contacted her family to notify us that she had been released. We were notified by the hospital 7 hours later. This facility has a clause in their contract that states that they can charge you for 30 days after the patient has passed away regardless if the space is still occupied. I never once felt that anyone really cared about my mother at this facility. She ended up passing away a month ago after they sent her out of the facility to the hospital due to "behaviors" and no one from the facility made any effort at all to offer any condolences to us.
