The Landing of Poughkeepsie is great. The only problem we have is there's constant turnover of management staff (which I think is happening across the board). You get used to one person and then they're gone. There just seemed to be a lot of people transitioning, but we love The Landing of Poughkeepsie. It's beautiful. The people that are dealing with my sister every day are incredible. They love her and they take care of her. They give us updates and what she needs. We're very happy with them and the place doesn't smell medicinal. I had eaten a lot with her pre-COVID, and the food was excellent.
The dining area in the assisted living is beautiful. It's like a restaurant. Now she's in the memory care, it's more of a service thing. They come to serve you at your table with a much smaller, but good menu. They're constantly playing bingo, watching videos about travel, and doing things that keep them very involved. They also go outside in the nice weather. They have a big fenced-in area for them so that they can't wander off. They have music and they play little games out there, too. They have a volleyball net where they could play with a beach ball.
