The Heritage is lovely. They take very good care of my mother-in-law. They're conscientious and kind to the residents. The residents seem very happy, too. She's in memory care and they do a very nice job. She has a lovely sitting room, her own full bathroom, and her own bedroom-all being separate. Then there is a kitchenette, a sink, a cabinet, and a little mini bar fridge where she could have snacks and little drinks on the quick because meals are provided.
It's not the newest facility, but it is clean and neat. It has no odors. It's got some more space compared to some other places. They have a very full social calendar with all sorts of things like ice cream socials, music, crafts, and church.

Please don’t bring your loved ones to this facility! Every aspect is just horrible starting with the administrator right down to the food. Our loved one is filthy, malnutritioned and is worse off now since being there. They drug up all their residents so they don’t have to bother with them. Just a horrible place. They put on the charm when families visit But we know different. As far as a memory care unit they don’t do anything with the residents to help them. Honestly I wouldn’t put a rattle snake in that dump! Run run run

My father was at The Heritage at Loretto, and it was not good. They had bedbugs. They need to improve on their cleanliness. The elevator stunk, and the floor smelled. These people are all incontinent, and they don't clean enough. He was covered in bedbug bites last summer. He refuses showers, so they just let him go without a shower. For three years, the only showers he got were when we gave him a shower. They didn't have enough staff to take care of the number of people that were there. The staff turns over, and they don't speak English very well. We're stuck there because there were not enough facilities up in Central New York that had available beds. They had a good activities director who tried very hard to get the people listen to music. They refused to do any special diets, they wouldn't do low fat, and they didn't do diabetic. It's old and needs updating of the furniture, the walls, and the paint. It was built in 1925, they had the original elevator, and it smelled. It's just as expensive as every other place.
