My husband is currently a resident of Atria Park of Lynbrook. He's staying in memory care and he's getting intense physical therapy for his legs. We did have at home physical therapy for a while, but it didn't work very well. Then his doctor suggested that we find at the very least some respite care where he could get help and that brought us to Atria. We signed a contract in case he does have to stay. He might be a permanent resident. He's been there for about two weeks now. I like everything. It is absolutely outstanding from the day I walked in and my son came with me, he felt the same way. It's been newly done, so it's more like a luxury hotel than it is a medical facility. The help from the top right down to all the aides that take care of him are absolutely excellent. He has a private room. It's like a hotel room. It's got chairs to sit in and it's very much like his bedroom at home. They have activities all day long, and they try to encourage these people to go to them. The meals are outstanding. I've been there with him when he's eating. The physical therapists are so caring and so good with him, that in the two weeks, he has made more progress than I've made with him at home in a couple of years. The physical therapist calls me and explains to me what's going on. It's simply wonderful. They have crafts, movies, and lectures. One day I was in there, they had on the screen, a lecture and a questionnaire, like brainteasers and things like that and he was quite receptive to it. The food looked good and it smelled so good, I wish I was eating it myself. The facility is immaculately clean. I'm very satisfied with it. These things are rather expensive because it's private pay, but I'm fortunate enough to, at least at the time being, be able to afford it.

Atria Lynbrook was very impressive. The person we dealt with most was Lauren, and she was terrific. Everything looked well kept and looked good. It's a very good place.

I loved Atria Lynbrook. They renovated the whole building and I liked the way that they have a memory care facility there established on the second floor. It's very secure, very clean, and very neat. They updated a lot of stuff, and I felt comfortable. It's not too far from where I live as well. If she qualifies, she can get benefits from Veterans, Medicare, and Social Security. If I can get her there, that will be the perfect spot for her. I spoke to Lauren, and she was very polite and very knowledgeable. She gave me some information to look into, and that's how I was able to find out that my aunt might qualify for VA benefits. She was very caring and very concerned and she understood the situation. She told me, "Whatever you could find out, as soon as you find out, just call us back and we'll see if we have a spot for her." She's very understanding. If anybody wants to reach out to go on a tour or whatever, ask for Lauren. Everybody was very cordial. I also met the director there and she was very nice, too. They have ample parking. It's very easy to get to. You can get there from the Sunrise Highway, make a right on Peninsula Boulevard and you're right there. It's not too far from the Long Island Railroad, so if anybody had to travel by train, the station is right there.

I knew from the first few minutes after bringing my mom to Atria Lynbrook Memory Unit, I had made the right decision. She was greeted with open arms by Julie who made her feel comfortable and at home immediately! She was escorted (with me) to her new home was the perfect size, and had all of the amenities that one could ask for! The Memory Care Unit is set up like a beautiful new open concept home!!! It allows the residents the opportunity to be given the freedom of moving within the whole unit community, while being safe and attended to as needed. There are all different areas available depending on what each resident has an interest in. There is a huge area for movies and TV, a separate area used for crafts and games, and a great area for exercise that can be done to the level of ability for each member of the community! There is also a lovely dining area where residents are served meals exactly like a fine restaurant. The tables are set when the residents arrive, and they are waited on by staff that is helpful and kind, with delicious food that varies and offers choices for individual tastes. (I wouldn’t mind coming by for a meal once in a while! What I have been fortunate enough to taste has been delicious! The staff aides treat my mom like they would treat their own mother. There’s NEVER been a time that an aide isn’t available to assist her with any of her needs. She’s continually checked on if she chooses to stay in her apartment, however, she’s consistently urged to be with other residents, not just for activities, but for socialization as well. Whenever I’ve visited, mom is spotless and well groomed! Her apartment is always clean, the bed is made (with the throw pillows), Her bathroom is sparkling and there’s never any trash in the pail! The unit head, Donna and Julie social worker (who I mentioned earlier), the nurses Lisa and Stephanie always keep me abreast of how mom is doing, and if there’s anything she might need. I could go on and on telling about the superior care that my mother is receiving! Believe me when I say that there is no where else I would rather her to be! I would be happy to speak to anyone who is considering making the Atria Lynbrook a home for a family member and answer any questions you might have. Although I’ve spoken about the Memory Unit, please know that the assisted living community as well, is like living in a five star ⭐️ hotel! The Atria Lynbrook has put my mind at ease with the caring and safe environment that they offer. If you’re in the process of deciding on a residence for yourself, or a family member in any area of the community, you’ll be happy with choosing the Atria Lynbrook as a special place to live.
