I went to Kiley Ranch Senior Living yesterday. It has memory care and assisted living. My stepdad could probably go into assisted living and then move into memory care. The thing I liked about that is that the memory care and the assisted living, both sides looked very similar, so it would have been an easy transition as far as familiarity of that area. It's a brand-new facility, so it's very clean. The rooms were very nice. There's enough room and they're furnished, which is pretty nice. They can bring in a few pieces of furniture on their own, but the bed is supplied, and the way they're set up is like a little studio there. They do have different options, but what I was looking for for my stepdad was just a little studio. There was enough room in there for a chair, for the bed, for a small dresser. He has his own bathroom. There was a little area where he could put a refrigerator, and there was a little closet in there. So, it was very nice. The staff was very professional, very caring, and I just enjoyed visiting with her. Of all the places I've been, that was the one place where I saw, especially on the memory care side, how engaged they were. When we were there, there were probably about eight of the residents and they were sitting in a circle, and then there were caregivers for about every third person. They had seventies music going and they were just batting around a balloon with these foam tubes. And everybody was laughing. The residents were all happy and they were just very engaged.
