We went to Heritage Springs, which is a nice facility. My mother was there for three years, so I went there a lot. The staff members there were outstanding. That to me was their highlight. Their staff was just wonderful. The rooms were nicer. They were smaller. Even the semiprivate ones are very private. The rooms were smaller, but they were adequate. They were a good size. They were neat and clean. The food was OK. It was pretty good for being in an institution. It was very good. When our family came down, they had a private dining room, and we all ate like family-style together, and that was just really a nice feature that we were able to do that. They did a lot of music. My mother was a musician, so I probably paid attention to them more, but they did a lot of getting together and singing like songs from the era that these people lived. They had people come in that could play the piano and sing songs. They had a van, so they take people on outings here and there.

Heritage Springs was amazing, more settled, and there were more residents than the other place we visited that's new. We saw how the staff interacted with the residents, how it's up to the individuals what they want to do, that it's not micromanaged. The memory care residents were allowed less privileges than the assisted living, but we liked the staff there. They knew everybody's name. It was a nice place. We saw where baths were given, the rooms, and there were residents eating in the dining area. It was a very nice dining atmosphere, everybody was well dressed, and they had a good menu and a good chef.
