My mother did respite care at Escalante at The Lakes for the last two weeks. I'm just waiting to drop off the paperwork for the permanent residency. We chose it because of the staff and the activities that they do regularly. I like the communication and the ratio of residents to staff. They're very caring. She likes the food. They have gardening, they dance, they have music, and they have performers who come in. They keep them busy. They were just purchased by another company and they're in the process of doing some renovations. They have a salon. It's easily accessible and the beauty of it is it's kind of tucked away behind a business park, so it's not visible from the main road.

When I visited the tour was very nice, and the people that were there were very nice too, including the person I spoke to. We talked to a few other people. Everybody was super nice and helpful there. The facility is very clean, and it's up to date. We were shown the area where people can go get something to eat whenever they want. If they don't want the regular, or if they miss the hours or something like that, they can go and just get something else to eat. It was a very nice facility; I would have no problem putting someone there. We saw the area where they have little cocktail parties and get-togethers. There's a little patio area that's kind of enclosed with a fence. They just have their lunchroom or dining room, we saw that.

My mom moved into the memory care unit. I'm very happy with her care there. I feel that she also has a lot of support. Overall, I think she's being very well taken care of.
She's in a semi-private room, but no one moved in with her yet in the four months. It's a beautiful room. It's all wood floors, and everything is very clean. I'm very pleased with it.
I think the staff is very kind too. She lost a bit of weight, but I think that just because of her forgetfulness of not eating. Other than that, she seems to like it a lot. She doesn't remember the activities they do, but the residents do coloring. There's always something going on.
I think it's a beautiful place. Every time I've gone there, they've been very clean. Her room always looks good. She always looks showered, and her hair is done.

My mother moved into the memory care here last week. They're very nice, very friendly, very clean, and very thorough. The staff is very professional, and very engaged with the dementia patients, so it's a great place to be. The staff keeps them engaged in activities, and gets them out of their rooms. They provide church activities, television for them to watch, and they play games as well.
