About This Community

Desert Peaks provides assisted living and memory care services on one campus. Our wellness services and life enrichment opportunities are designed to maintain or improve the capabilities of each resident – with the emphasis on abilities and support to maintain independence.

Desert Peaks offers community amenities that enhance the home-like environment while encouraging the social interaction of community living. We also encourage community and family connections and the changing environment in which those are maintained--which is why we are proud to offer amenities such as free wireless internet access and programming to assist elders with learning to use their devices.

Benefits include:

  • Tailoring of services to the individual needs of the elder
  • Maintenance of an elder’s lifestyle and connection to the Greater community (assistance with transportation, shopping, recreation, and volunteerism are just a few examples)
  • Programs designed to keep an elder active and engaged in life and their surroundings
  • Affordable alternative to the high-cost of in-home care and nursing homes
  • Extended ‘family’ to care and watch out for the elder’s safety and well-being
  • Regular communication with long-distance family members
  • Help prevent major disasters that sometimes happen when elders live alone
  • Maintaining the ability for home health care workers to assist with nurse-required care such as wound care or injections while living in a home-like environment

The people at Desert Peaks Assisted Living and Memory Care were very friendly and accommodating. They have a beauty salon for the ladies and haircut services for men. The staff who did the tour was pretty good. The facility was just kind of old and the location was not very good at all. The memory care room was shared with two people and it was very small. So, it was not anything that I would consider for my loved one.

We had my mom at Desert Peaks' assisted living first, then they had to move her to their memory care. So far, I don't have anything to complain about because they've been wonderful. She's been having trouble adjusting. They've had to take her to the hospital several times for infusions, and they've notified me of all instances that happened to her. The staff is wonderful. Communication has been kind of difficult because there's one number. After the first time she went to the hospital, I kept calling to get a hold of the director, and for someone to give me information. My mom went on Saturday night, and Monday I finally got some feedback. Someone answered and told me that it was the director's last day and I didn't realize it. I was a little bit upset about that since I called her all weekend, but she's no longer with the company. The new girl, Jana, who's the wellness director, has been really good at communicating with me. I haven't tried them but they serve nutritional and balanced meals. The facility itself is very homey and clean. I researched several other facilities, and this one was comparable or lower to the rates I found. I'm satisfied with it. They have a salon, but I don't know if it's open again because of the COVID. They do laundry too.
