The Residence at Silver Square was very nice. It's a huge facility, but extremely nice and fairly new. I think it's only been open for four or five years. The memory care residents were in the hall doing exercises and it looked like they were enjoying themselves and that the nurse was interacting with them a lot. I was very pleased with it. The rooms were very clean and bright. They were very conscious about the colors that they use in their memory care unit, which I found very interesting. The staff wore certain colored shirts. Their plates were in certain colors to encourage the residents to eat more. The dining room was very elegant. One of the reasons we didn't choose it was they're very expensive and we decided on a smaller facility rather than a quite large facility.

My husband was a resident for 8 months suffering from vascular dementia. I was appalled at the poor care he received. Many times I found his bedding unacceptable, personal care so poor I was forced to shower him myself and supervision non existent. The lack of good management was very apparent. Very few activities listed actually occurred , residents left in their rooms for hours often through meals. Beautiful rooms and surroundings, many great staff members , but not enough. Extremely disappointed !
