I went to Brookdale Spruce Wood with a friend and I was visiting her parents. The rooms were beautiful. They have a split bedroom where you have your own separate bedroom and then you come out to a little tiny living room for the both of you. Then they have a bigger area with TVs, puzzles, and couches. It was very clean, they seemed to be well staffed, and the residents seemed happy.
My friend's parents said the food was very good. I met some of the staff and they seemed very nice. My friend's parents said they were also very nice. They gave them showers and they were very happy with their safety. They were all pleasant and attentive to the residents. They have a salon for both men and women as well. I was considering my mom go there, but they didn't have a room available in the memory care.

My mom is now in Brookdale Spruce Wood. It has been great so far. It is costly, but they try to customize the treatment or the activities for everyone. They have been very responsive; they have communicated a lot with us. The accommodations are very nice. My mom is in a friendship unit. Right now, she doesn't have another person with her, but there are two bedrooms, a small living room area, and a bathroom. Everyone has been wonderful so far. The place is very clean and well decorated. The staff members are on top of things. They have a full calendar of activities. My mom has already been on one field trip. They have a van and they go on day trips. We are really pleased, but it seems expensive for what we get.
