Heritage Greens was really good because of the way it was laid out. You don't have to go down the corridor to get somewhere because everything's in a circle and I liked that, but the one-time fee was just too expensive. I visited the memory care and the rooms were fairly good. It was homey and I got good feelings about the place. When you walk in, it's just very pleasant. Cleanliness was also good and the lady I talked to was very nice. We had questions for her, and she answered them.

My aunt has moved into Heritage Greens. She's doing wonderful. She enjoys it there. It's very clean, it has beautiful gardens, and she enjoys the outside time there. She enjoys being around others. This is her first placement. She had not been in memory care before and she transitioned very well there. The staff is very friendly, but they can improve on communication a little bit. They asked me what I needed initially, but I haven't had a whole lot of contact with them since then, other than when I go over there. The food is really good, which she enjoys. They have some scheduled activities. They've had crafts and they had a 4th of July activities. We haven't been involved in the assisted living part, but they have had different events for them. They have a hair salon that you can make appointments with.

Heritage Greens has been good for my mother. She's in the memory care unit. They wanted to kick her out after the first night because she was yelling and screaming. A consultant, who is a geriatric medicine physician, came in and watched my mom for two days. She's gonna work with my mom one-on-one, and they found her for me, this person who does this. My mom said she likes it there, so that's all I can ask. I like the way they work and the way they're set up. The way the memory care is set up is open, it's not like hallways with little tiny rooms. It's set up family style. You walk out of your room and walk into the living room, and then there's a kitchen area and a TV out there. I like the way that they haven't given up caring for her. They work with me, they call me, they tell me what things are going on. The last place just left her in a chair pretty much, and this one also tests family members for COVID, so I can visit her like twice a week. Like if I get tested Monday and I get tested on Wednesday I get a 24-hour window to actually see her. That's different from any community I know of. Right now one of their staff members got COVID so I can't go visit. I think they're not always great, but when I called to report something that I heard, when I was on the phone with my mom that person was reprimanded. If the staff isn't acting properly and you find out they do something about it. They keep working on things, they don't just let things on. It's clean, it's well taken care of, and well thought out. They're also doing therapy with her. They cut back on activities because of COVID.
