We went to the Blake at Flowood. It was an outstanding facility, topnotch everything, but it was just too expensive. It was a spur on the moment appointment. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. The rooms were beautiful, there were crown moldings on the ceiling. I remember making a comment "Hey, I'll come live here." They have both private and shared rooms. They have a baby grand piano in one area, people will come in and play, and they will have sing-alongs. They had a beautiful courtyard, and it was an absolutely gorgeous place. They have painting, planting, gardening, and all kinds of things.

My father was in the Blake at Flowood. The appearance was very nice, the rooms were nice, as well as the advertised amenities. But I cannot recommend the facility because of the staff, the lack of communication, and the COVID restrictions. We had some difficulties with the housekeeping consistency, follow up, and not putting strategies in place to prevent falls. I think the food was OK, the dining area was acceptable, but there were very few activities on the memory care side. They need to communicate directly with family, have a process for moving in place, and for moving in and moving out, have engaging activities for the residents, and have measures in place for equipment or things they can do to improve safety and to prevent falls.
