Addington Place of Lee's Summit was terrible. The person who was supposed to give me a tour wasn't even there. When I came in, the front desk gal was packaging COVID test swabs, which I understand (people get COVID and they were testing residents), but I don't know that you would want to be doing that in front of someone that's looking for a place for someone there. There were also bits of things on the floor. The door frames (where you put your hands to come in) were dirty. The door wasn't latched when I came in. It looks like their assisted living side was probably decent, but as you had to walk through to get to their memory care, it was not good. It smelled. It was dirty. It looked like a nursing home. They just tried to freshen up the paint and put a couple of modern furniture pieces in there. The lady who gave the tour was nice though.

My mom is going to Addington Place of Lee's Summit. I felt like their memory care was set up very, very well and very accommodating to the patient. And they would allow my dad to go in and stay with my mom if he wanted to. We got two rooms, but they're right side by side, and he can visit her and be right there close and they won't have to move again. They showed us both assisted living and memory care. My dad could have gone into assisted living, but he didn't want to. The person who toured us was very good. The outdoor space was very nice. There are two courtyards. There's one in the memory care, where the people in memory care can just walk right out onto the patio. They're not going to go anywhere and it's a big round courtyard. It's beautiful. They can go out there and just get some sun and do what they want. They have activities, too.

We toured Addington Place of Lee's Summit. It was very nice and very clean. The rooms were very small. Unfortunately, that's kind of the way things are, but we just need to keep looking. The staff member was very helpful. She showed us around and told us the cost of everything. This was a one bedroom. They do have studios, but that wouldn't work for us. They have a wonderful dining room area. They also have a movie room, which was very nice. They have a laundromat, that's very handy for taking and cleaning your clothes. They have a very nice dining room. They have a family room where you can sit and visit, and they do have a courtyard, which was very nice. If you needed the memory care, and the person to be separated from you, they are on the same floor.
