My dad has been in the Villages of Jackson Creek for several weeks now. They have both assisted living and memory care. He moved into memory care. He still has some abilities, but he needed more care than what assisted living could provide, so we had to move him into memory care, which made the transition hard because he was aware of that, and he felt like he didn't belong in there. What I noticed is they engage with him. There's an open area where they dine together. The rooms are around the open area, and we like that. The family members interact with the other family members, and they interact with my dad. Many of them would come over and say hello or get him coffee, which was important to us and important to my dad because he needs the interaction. He's social, and a lot of the other residents can't suffice that. The attendants there do well with him. I like the layout of it because it is open, so you can see the living area with the television, and they also do entertainment there. The kitchen and the dining area are there. The rooms are on the outside all the way around. He has windows looking out to a nicely landscaped ground, which is pretty there. He's an outdoor person, so that helps. He can have bird feeders, so we put those outside one of his windows. I like the room because it was spacious. It wasn't a box or a square. The closet was large, and the chest of drawers fit in the closet. The bathroom is spacious and is set up well, of course, for the handicapped. There's plenty of room for a queen-size bed. He has his recliner in there and a television. We put some folding chairs in there for guests. I like the lighting. You could get full lighting, or you can get dimmer lighting, which was helpful for my dad. It has hardwood floors, so it looks clean. The place looked clean. It's a really pretty place. The people that work there are so friendly and helpful. The transition was hard on me, and I got a lot of support. It's hard on my dad, too. It's the first time I've had to put a parent in a facility, and I didn't want to do it because I was the one staying home with him and taking care of him, so it was hard. They have a bird sanctuary inside the area where they can go, and my dad is fascinated with that. He can watch the birds. They have music and they bring in musicians to play. My dad loves music. Something about it was homey. It's very nice and very clean. It reminded me of a home-like someplace my dad would feel comfortable with. It was more like his style or taste. The staff I interacted with are very professional. The problem with my dad is he can't identify what they're serving him. He is aware enough, but he has a problem with that, so we've been taking him food. It tasted OK to me, but I couldn't tell what it was.

Great place for memory care. Long tenured caring staff many with 10+ years there. Rooms are spacious and clean. Very fair priced considering the quality of staff. They provide a variety of interesting activities for the residents. Great location right off I-70. We Strongly recommend this place!

I would recommend the Villages. It was just taken over by a big corporation, and I hate that. They have their little routine for the day. They have their menu that looks yummy and isn’t. I think that they’re pretty good at their medical care especially if people want to be contacted, and they’re ready to answer your questions. They’re set up with the latest.
