About This Community

Cross Creek was built to provide the best possible environment for our residents. Our life-enriching programs and activities, coupled with our high standard of senior care, allow residents to continue to engage in the activities they enjoy in a safe, fulfilling environment.

Our President & CEO Jeff Smith's mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when Jeff was in his 40's. During this time, he learned how much the family of an individual with Alzheimer’s suffers, but that laughter can cure almost anything. Cross Creek at Lee’s Summit was developed and designed with Jeff's mother at the top of his mind, and he hopes to use the memory care community as a way to help individuals and families who are faced with the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and memory-related disorders.

I liked how new and how nice Cross Creek at Lee's Summit was. It felt more like just a home or an apartment complex rather than a nursing facility. They've got two-bedroom apartments, one-bedroom apartments, and then they have two different-sized studios in the memory care. They have different games, a therapy dog that comes in, some entertainment, outdoor activities, crafts, and bingo games. The staff that I saw interacting with other people looked like they were doing a good job. I actually toured it twice and everything looked good to me.

I visited Cross Creek over a year ago, a caregiver whose Mother was there at the time took me aside and said she had looked everywhere and this place was excellent. I took her advice and My Mom 95, has been there ever since . She has memory care issues and seems to be very content there and loves the staff. The staff is always available to help you with any issues. No smells, very clean place. The food is excellent and so are the activities that are totally geared to memory care issues. The concept is open and my Mom loves to sit by the fire after breakfast and watches all the activity. I feel good she seems so happy and the heavy burden I had of caring for all her needs has lessened and she really seems better mentally and physically. So our quality of time together is now much better! Good choice!
