I've toured Sunrise of Edina, they're kinda busy doing some remodeling and stuff. This place was smaller than the other facility I talked to, but they're cozier. It was clean and the staff was right there to talk to us. The tour was very good, the facility itself was in good condition and everything we saw was clean.

Sunrise of Edina was extraordinarily lovely. The rooms were a little more comfortable. I thought they had done a better job of clarifying what respite care means. They were clear about how I could use them for respite care and that I'd be welcome if I didn't or did want to keep my wife in there. I felt a little more comfortable there because the memory care was almost standing on its own whereas the memory care in the other facility was under a large context of senior living.

Aides are generally ok. Some good ones yet very understaffed. That's by design. This is a for profit operations. (It's evident through staffing and food). Aides are task oriented. Not relationship oriented. Observed 1 aide trying to manage the dining hall and serve 20+ residents. I'm sure this was an anomaly yet it wasn't pretty. Food is poor yet that's subjective. Highly recommend spending a few mornings observing the care and staying for a few meals. Don't order the salmon.
