About This Community

New Friends, managed by Vibrant Life Communities, offers an entirely new approach to assisted living, memory support and dementia care.

Simply, we don’t change the way we treat someone just because they may have changed. In fact, we change. In our Vibrant Life philosophy, we passionately believe each person can continue having a life and remain vibrant – despite changes in a person’s physical or cognitive needs. The professional care and support we provide becomes more of a background in their lives rather than the main focus. That’s why we like to call what we do “LIVING with assistance.”

We do this by creating a living plan for each person and their family, based on their needs, desires and strengths. At New Friends, people live in their own suites in one of our three comfortable and inviting lodges, with warm wood tones, big screen TVs and even a café. With music of their era playing in one room, the big game on in another, and fresh coffee brewing, New Friends is more like your favorite local coffeehouse. No scrubs, no nurse’s stations, no sterile environment. We have created a place the whole family wants to come to.

Don’t take loved ones there. Inexperienced staff and workers. Food is horrible, mostly cold! No coffee, only cranberry watered down powder is given. Don’t have water for individuals, watches same movies every week. NO activities ever!! Patients are not checked on in rooms except for meds. No water in rooms. Very few showers. Laundry piles up!!

New Friends Community was a very clean facility. They're all individual rooms with their own bathrooms, so that made it very nice. The staff was very attentive. When my dad was put on active status with hospice they were more than gracious to try to accommodate things for us. We couldn't be inside the facility because of COVID, but they worked very hard to allow us to be outside, bringing out coffee and stuff, and just making sure that the family was taken care of as well as my dad. No one ever complained. They were very, very accommodating. My dad didn't eat while he was in there, but they brought us food and it was great. They're on the pricey side though.

I am so sad to the major changes that have happened at New Friends. This place use to be a place I felt good about. Since the change in management there has been nothing but decline in care, effort, and consistency. If I was able to remove my grandparent I would but I am not the decision maker. The computer audio are care that once was there is gone. I hope that something changes again soon before something bad happens.

My father-in-law has moved into New Friends Community. The place is small. It is different than a lot of the bigger communities. However, we feel like our father-in-law is getting very good day-to-day care. The people working there are very attentive and very communicative. When it came time to move him into the place, which we did at the last minute, they were very accommodating and extremely helpful to help us get him in there on short notice. Overall, our experience has been very positive so far. My father-in-law is in a room with a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small sitting area. They have three or four activities everyday, which is good. They are taking the residents on outings when they can. My father-in-law seems to like the food too.
