My mother-in-law used to be at The Gilbert Residence. But they have a high turnover of employees, --which is one of the reasons we kind of left. Although we brought her home because we thought that their price was a little too heavy. Because they moved her from supportive care to assisted living, the price went up to almost $600, and we couldn’t afford that. As far as the amenities and the amount of care that she got, it was top-notch. They had us over for Thanksgiving and for Christmas parties, they have a big party during the summer or the Hawaiian party, and the food was excellent. They had a lot of activities such as musicians coming in, games, and a lot of other stuff.

Gilbert Residence is a combination of nursing home and memory care unit; my mom is there. The facility itself is very nice. They seemed to have a great reputation, and everything that we have seen so far would indicate that it is a very good place for her to be. They try to scale things to where the person is at, so that’s where you come in.
There are people who are in different levels of Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and they have different things to where a person is. It is locked down; she can’t get out and wonder off. They have a very nice security for them.
