My mother has moved into StoryPoint Granger. What made me choose this place is their reviews online, and number two, they had the availability that very few other places did. Activities are OK, but I'm not overly impressed. They have some sing-a-long, and I'm not sure what else. They keep them cleaned and they keep them fed. They have a little activity in the middle of the afternoon, and that's about all I've seen. I haven't tried their food. It looks good, and it always smells good. My mother is not overly impressed, but I think it's just because she wants to be back home. They seem to offer them a snack in the middle of the day. It's usually a good-looking piece of cake or ice cream. The upkeep is very good. The only real complaint I have about my mother's room is the fact that it just has a sink without a counter around it, so you have no place to set anything. That would be my biggest complaint. I've also never heard from the nurse. She's never, ever called me. The doctor called me several times, but the nurse never called me. When I ask them if my mother needs anything, 'No. She doesn't need anything.' And they don't even look at her records to see what's been going on. They keep working at their desk and don't even really pay attention when you're trying to talk to them. The staff just need to be a little more caring. Some of them are, but the overall isn't. You have to push a button to get into the wing because it's under lockdown, of course. And sometimes they let the visitors stand out there for 10, 15, to 20 minutes before they answered the door. They just don't care. And there's very little communication between them and myself.

My mom is at StoryPoint Granger. She is in the memory care area and she has a very nice room. Tiffany is wonderful. They have activities throughout the day such as arts and crafts, and memory-type activities such as music, as well as physical activities that they can do to their ability. I've eaten there many times and I've been very impressed with the food. They are very friendly, but some of the day-to-day staff are not attentive enough. There's a lot of turnovers right now and it's been noticeable that their upkeep and some of the things haven't been up to the original standards of when we first moved mom there. I still believe they're doing their best. They're super nice and they're super trying.

My dad is going to StoryPoint Granger. We visited memory care, that's where dad is going to go. We visited the assisted living, too, because my mom is going to go in there, too. The whole facility is gorgeous. It's very clean. The staff is fantastic. They are all very, very nice and very helpful and supportive. The room is good. He will have a window overlooking the courtyard with lots of flowers and stuff, so he is going to able to see everything, so that's nice. It's very, very beautiful. They have all kinds of activities. They have a great activity director. They have a dining room, and they have a beauty shop. They mostly have activities and stuff for the guests as far as setting up a big TV for football games and things like that, which dad will love.

I was very impressed with StoryPoint Granger. The living areas are very, very nice. Chris, the administrator, was very informative. He took me through the entire unit. The rooms were adequate. There were quite a few living areas. They have separate dining areas. Everybody looked pretty happy there. The staff was very, very nice. The building itself is very nice. They have a library and a TV room.

My mother-in-law moved in. Our visit was pleasant, it's pretty, it's attractive there, it felt and it smelled clean, and the staff has so far been very informative, appears to have a pretty understanding about memory care, and are willing to educate the family regarding their expertise. They do offer snacks three times a day, including encouraging water. I heard that they had good options for lunch, but so far I can't get anything from my mother-in-law. They cannot communicate to me what's going on with food, but they do provide plenty of snacks in case she doesn't eat her food properly. So far, they've been excellent.

I looked and they have a lovely facility too. The only difference I saw in there was that it isn’t just straight assisted living; my stepmother is in the memory care unit, and it just seemed a little different -- maybe because of the clients that are in there. They require different stimuli. They were very kind, the room is very nice, and from what I know and I have heard from a dear friend of mine say that her mother was very satisfied. It’s a new facility; it almost looked like an institution because everything was the same, and there was no break up of pictures. It is more regimented than where dad is right now.
