Anthology of Meridian Hills is an attractive facility. I felt like they promised services, but when I read reviews, it became apparent that those services will not be available. I would not rate them as high as far as my impression of the attentiveness of staff or their ability to take care of somebody with my dad's needs. The staff that accommodated us with the tour was very personable. I just don't think they were very forthcoming on some information, and I was pretty direct about what I needed. It wouldn't necessarily be the same for everybody, but my dad has more complicated needs; so what might work for somebody else, would not necessarily work for us. The rooms were very nice, but they were down long hallways. It would be a bit of a walk for my dad in his wheelchair to get to the group area. It wasn't as close as it was in some other places where the area people gather is fairly close to their rooms. I think that sort of encourages them to come out. At Anthology, the rooms were more remote. I could see my dad kind of being back there and just not engaging. The rooms have fridges, but not microwaves. Some of them were studios, some of them were 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom. It varies from apartment to apartment.

Anthology was wonderful until they changed management within the last year. It has now become horrible. They are understaffed and use many temporary staff, which are not well trained. I echo the above review concerning Alzheimer's. My husband and I were given many reassurances, but in the end, there were almost daily calls about how they could not handle behaviors. There were vague insinuations that my father in law would be kicked out. We had to change hospice agencies and the new agency informed us that they walked in to him covered in stool and appearing in pain. Both of my in laws were there, but we moved my mother in law due to repeated falls and their requirement that we hire an independent aide. She was not being well cared for. The final straw came when they sent the wrong person to the new facility where we were transferring my mother in law!!! I am so unhappy with the new management. My father in law died and the person who was staffing the memory care unit had no idea that he died (she asked us if we had asked my father in law for his permission before we entered his room to remove his belongings.) We are still waiting for any sort of condolences from the executive director. (He called and asked where we wanted a reimbursement check sent without even a sorry for your loss.) Please don't use this facility for your loved ones

Some of the nurses and CNAs were amazing but I don't think they had the access and training they needed for memory care. The facility called all the time and threatened my mom. We moved him (which was there goal) and when we picked him up his belongings were covered in urine and poop.
