We have our dad at Adams Pointe in Quincy. He is in the memory care. I have a mixed review for them. They came and tested him and said he could go in the assisted living, so we got him in a private room and got it all set up and made it nice for him. It was a really nice apartment. The first night he was there, he tried to escape four times and was mean to the staff. They called me at 7:30 in the morning -- he has not even been there fourteen hours -- and said that he couldn't stay there anymore. Either he would have to go home or transfer to memory care. I don't think they made a very good effort. He didn't get moved in until five o'clock in the late afternoon, so I just think somebody should have paid more attention to him, since it was his first night, and he was not accustomed to his surroundings. I think if somebody would have paid more attention to him that first night, we could have stayed there, but they just gave up on him -- and very quickly. The next day, we tried to get him next door to the memory unit. They didn't have a private room, so he stayed with another gentleman. The staff has been very nice, though. The rate includes everything, even meals. It's hard to say much now because we can't visit him. We went for a couple of days after we placed him there; after that, we couldn't go there anymore. The place is very nice, very attractive, and very clean. They have some nice patios, but right now being winter, they can't really go to any of that. They have nice quiet rooms, and the common areas are really nice and pretty.
