I was impressed with Anthology of Grayslake. It was very clean, the rooms are an adequate size, and they have plenty of activities. I couldn't complain as far as they offered. They're a little on the expensive side compared to others so far. I thought the atmosphere was very pleasant, the rooms' bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and my husband could have a shower where he could use a wheelchair if need be. There's plenty of space to move around with a wheelchair. They had a garden that the residents plant and take care of, and enough outings and activities every day. I think he'll be happy there, the place is just bright, cheerful and pleasant.

My father is in Travanse Senior Living at Grayslake. It's an assisted living community with memory care. He's in the memory care side. It's a new facility. It's been there just a year, so it's very nice and it's clean. The food is good. The staff is very friendly, from the receptionist when you first walk in, to the activities group and the staff on the memory care floor. Everybody's very good, very kind, and it seems to be a very well-run facility. They have quite a variety of activities. The people in the memory care unit can also participate in activities on the assisted living floor. They have exercising, Bingo, lunch outings, breakfast outings, entertainment that comes in, church services, a Bridge group, and quite a variety of things that he seems to enjoy.
