I toured Sunrise of Gurnee. It was good. Jonathan was the man who gave me my tour. He was very nice. The facility is beautiful. It might be comparable or even over to where my mom is. It's very ornate. They have a computer sign-in system. If you come in as a guest or a resident, you have to sign in and out on this computer. They have a dog that lives there, which was kind of a draw for me because I know my mom would love that. They have three chefs there because it's a pretty large facility. But they didn't do much with individualized meals. My mom is a diabetic, so I asked about that, and it's like, 'Well, memory care and assisted living eat the same things,' which wasn't helpful to me. In memory care, they can't just leave. You have to be like buzzed in and out. It seemed to be very small. I think their memory care capacity is 18, and they had 12 or 13 residents. It almost felt like a house. Like when you walk in, there was a little office and then there was a big kitchen area more like what your dining room would be like at home. And then there was what felt like a living room area, and some residents were sitting there watching a football game. They have a little walk-out area where you could go outside into the courtyard that was fenced. They had little nooks. One need had like a baby cradle, a baby and a rocking chair, so if you want to practice holding your grandchild or something like that, you could do that there. They had a dress-up area that had hats and jewelry and stuff. They had a desk with a typewriter and things like that. Their rooms were average studio rooms, so they felt small. For my mom, if she needed to be in the memory care part, that was not going to be a good place for her. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice and knowledgeable. I don't recall seeing their dining room, but when you walk in the front door, behind the lobby, they had like a little bakery area where they had baked goods and fruits sitting out.
