My mother-in-law will be moving into Briarwood Assisted Living of Rexburg. It's very homey and just feels like home; that's what's great about it. It's actually a home that got turned into a nursing facility. It's really great. It's nice for people with memory care; there's a yard, but it's locked in. They can't escape or wander. They have 24-hour CNAs; that's also great. I've heard great news about it from other people so far. The staff were wonderful. It was the owner/manager. Her name's Hilary. She was really great. She explained everything very well and answered any questions I had. They even went up yesterday to the assisted living she was staying at, and visited with her to kind of see what her needs would be before they got her in. They kind of got to know her before they even got her in there. The rooms are very homey. It doesn't feel hospital-like or nursing home-like. It was just a very homey experience. I think that's very good for transitioning when they have to move out of their homes and move into a place like that. It almost felt like a home, and it was very good on transitioning them. The upkeep and maintenance is very well, and it's clean. I haven't had a chance to try their food. They have a kitchen, and it's like you're sitting in your own kitchen at the table. It's just like you're at home. I imagine the food will be great. It's really a great place, and I'm excited to see how well she does there. I think it's going very well. I think it's a good place. I can get my father-in-law into it also when he is ready. The staff was very wonderful, down to earth, and very easy to get along with. She was great.

Briarwood Assisted Living of Rexburg had a very small, homey type atmosphere. It's a home that they have converted into their memory care unit. They offered to help with minimal furnishings. They're in the process of changing over their manager and they didn't have any printed literature to give to me, no pricing sheets, no fact sheets at all, anything like that. It was all verbal communication. The staff during the tour was fine. He tried to be very honest and forthright and explained the accommodations well, what would be available, and that sort of thing.
