Journey Senior Living of Ankeny has been great. My husband hasn't really taken advantage of a lot of things, but they offer things and they're very patient with him. It's a beautiful facility. People come in to do haircuts. Podiatrists and cardiologists also come in. They've been great to work with. My husband has made somewhat inappropriate comments and they've handled that extremely well. The staff is wonderful, and the nurse has been very good about helping me with different things. He has an efficiency apartment, and he has his own furniture, so he feels comfortable with the things that he has. It's not a hospital or a nursing home situation. He has a full-sized bed. It's a lovely place and a lot homier than the places I had looked at. They have an interior courtyard if he wants to go outside, and they have music. They always offer to take him to activities. He's well taken care of and the food is excellent. I'm very satisfied with them. I haven't had any bad experiences.
