I toured Amelia Place for my mother. The only bad thing was that they didn't have a lot of minority-driven activities. I really liked their memory care facility. They gave more individualized care. I liked their group activities and the things that they were doing for their residents. The staff who assisted me with the tour was very knowledgeable and very empathetic. The rooms were very clean, nice, and large, but they were almost like a hospital setting. The residents seemed happy as they were doing a class session. They had bridge, shuffleboard, cards, puzzles, and bingo.

I went to Amelia Place. Walking in, it was very comfortable. It was cozy. It was warm, and we were greeted very friendly. The staff was very informative. They gave us information that we weren't aware of. They talked to us about the financing and all that was included there. They gave us some information on financing and their policies there regarding bathing, medications, housekeeping, and laundry. They showed us the bath area, and I asked if I could rent it for an hour because my mom hasn't been in a tub of water for over three years; she would love to take a bath. They have cooking, arts and crafts and outing activities. The menus were fine. It was a good community for my mom to be in. It's a Catholic community and my mom's Catholic. It would be a good place for her.
