My parents are living at Manor Lake Hiram now. They're in memory care. It is immaculate. The landscaping is very well taken care of and maintained. The inside, once you walk in, is very welcoming. The decor is very appropriate and modern, almost looks like you're walking into a hotel. They have a huge rock fireplace in the welcoming area with chairs and a beautiful dining room. They have several patios. The rooms are the most spacious of the several facilities that I visited. There is a kitchenette with a refrigerator, cabinet, sink, and bath with a walk-in shower. They have a queen-sized bed, chest of drawers, two recliners, a table, and still a lot of room, with a large walk-in closet. Sherry, the executive director, is very personable, very accommodating, and very caring, and made me choose the facility very well. I found the pricing to be quite competitive with the other facilities in the area. I would highly recommend this place for a loved one. They have daily exercise programs, bible study groups, and book clubs, they showed movies on the large screen, and they have family night about once a month. They have a big event where family loved ones can come and they all have entertainment. They did a big Valentine's banquet. My parents were crowned king and queen. They have made a sundae banana split. The ladies do craftwork. Tina, the coordinator of memory care, she's excellent with craftwork. She'll have everybody in a big circle and they'll be doing crafts. They try to keep them mentally and physically active. They have a walking club that my dad's a part of. They have several gardens. My dad was very proud, last year, he grew tomatoes and some little green peppers and things, and he was very excited about that. They have an excellent breakfast. They have certain days that in addition to the traditional bacon, sausage, eggs kind of thing, they'll do pancakes one day and then waffles and they try to mix it up, to give them a variety. Lunch is usually very tasty. There's meat, vegetables, and a dessert. They get snacks twice a day and then supper is usually chopped up. They have appropriate portions for older people in the evening, which is necessary for them. I'm very pleased with that. I'm pleased with the personnel and the care. The caregivers have been with them for a while. They know them. It's almost like extended family. From the time you drive down the property, it has beautiful grounds and always has fresh flowers. The facility is extremely clean, the food's good, the personnel is good, and the rooms are spacious. It's a beautiful facility.

I liked Manor Lake Hiram. They were decorated for a holiday. They had a veteran's wall set up. It seemed as if there was a community there too. They had daily and hourly activities as well. The rooms were nice and spacious. From the staff that I met, everyone seemed very friendly, nice, and welcoming. They had a salon, a family room, and a courtyard with tables and chairs. They do a once-a-week outing with the guests where they take them out and do a bus ride.

I liked Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care a lot. It is a beautiful place, big, especially for the memory care. They have more places they can roam and go to. I liked that it was large, the rooms were large, more room for family and visitors to visit, and comfortable. It looked very homey. It looked very clean. It's very airy. It had a good, warm feeling. The residents there seemed happy. That was my first choice, but it was farther out for me to drive. I liked the fact that it was right across the street from the hospital. It wouldn't take a moment to get to a hospital if you needed to do that. It was pretty, updated, new, not worn down.

My mother-in-law moved into the memory care unit of Manor Lake Assisted Living & Memory Care in January. They are excellent and have gone above and beyond to try to help us in any way possible. They call us each time anything happens there. They're wonderful. The facility is beautiful, very well kept, and clean, too. I can't say anything against them at all. It's right across the street from the hospital and from her primary care doctor, so their location is very convenient. They feed her three times a day, and she can have snacks or coffee and stuff anytime she wants it. They also give her her medicine every single day, and she has her own suite.
