Silverleaf Alzheimer's Care Of Snellville was a lower budget facility. It was dramatically cheaper than any place that I looked at. They were understaffed, but the staff member that I encountered was great. My only complaint was that my father wasn't given the snacks or drinks that I brought him. It's not a glamorous facility, but when somebody has severe dementia, they don't care about how pretty the baseboards are painted. The advantage with Silverleaf is I didn't have to go out and get a bed. It's also extremely convenient and located near the hospital.

The outward appearance was very friendly and nice, despite the fact that you would have the occasional fight between residents. This was an Alzheimer's facility. The nurses seemed knowledgeable on how to handle the residents. My favorite part was talking to the residents. They were very nice and kind and even if they were talking about things I didn't know, it was still a good experience. The negative things I saw were a few residents were seen walking around, by themselves, and this could be a danger because they could fall or get hurt and no one would know. I also didn't agree with the food choices and the way it was served. A lot of residents were feed pureed food even though they seemed to be able to eat just fine. They were also still hungry but denied more food.
