We went to Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home. The room my mother was going be placed in was real nice, and it was already furnished. We didn't have to provide furniture. We only met with the doctor that owns it, and he was very nice. We didn't have any interaction with the staff because at that particular time, the residents were eating lunch. All the staff was involved with feeding and what have you. The dining area looked nice. The rooms were very nice. When you first come in to the place, it was kind of outdated. It needed some work. They had sitting rooms and different church groups that come in for them. They take them out on trips. They have quite a few activities for them. The outdoor area was nice, clean, and well taken care of. The doctor (owner) knew exactly what he was talking about, and he was very knowledgeable.

Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home was very comfy. It was a little older, but it felt like a home instead of a typical facility. It was decorated in a way that would remind the residents of their homes or when they were younger adults, and I kind of liked that. Pat was very nice and very welcoming. She understood memory care, which impressed me a lot. She was really sweet and she had worked there for over 20 years. So, she's been there quite a while. Then the owner, who was a doctor, was very nice as well. They both seem to understand the needs of people with cognitive impairment, because it's a difficult decision to move somebody into a memory care facility and they were very understanding. They have private and semi-private rooms so that you can have a roommate or you can have your own room. They were very flexible and very willing to work with you. You can bring your own furniture or use theirs. They have three planned meals per day, but residents can go anytime they're hungry. If they want a snack, they just go to the dining area and there's always someone there to get them a snack or make them one. Everybody that was on site that day were all out, either watching T.V or outside gardening. So, there were a lot of things going on. People weren't just sitting in their rooms doing nothing. I think some were also playing a game in one area.

My uncle likes being in Mount Carmel Personal Homecare a lot, and he's very happy. The food is good and the people that run it are kind, caring people. It's an old place but it's comfortable. The furnishings are like these people grew up with, in my opinion, that's why they're comfortable there because it's like where they grew up. They have all leather there, that's nice. It's 35 years old and it looks like it's 35 years old. The place is very clean, and they clean the room every day. He plays the piano and they sing, they have church services. He goes to a chiropractor every week and there's a person that takes him there. We have to pay like $15 an hour, but it's well worth it. It's cozy, homey, and not like the modern places that you see today. They check on him every morning, they check on him every night and he goes to breakfast. He comes back and his bed is made. His room's been clean.

When I visited Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home, the people were so friendly. One lady even met us at the gate to make sure we got in OK. It was very clean, and very quiet. The people that we saw there seemed happy enough. They just seemed satisfied. The people who work there spoke to the people who were residents. They didn't just walk by and ignore them, they spoke to them, and maybe touched them on the arm or something like that. It was really caring, they were super. Everything was so clean. Even the rooms that we saw were just so clean. The kitchen was clean. It seemed a little small to me to be doing all that cooking, but I guess they manage. They have snacks throughout the day if they just want a snack. It was very nice. The furniture was very nice. It was like overstuffed leather sofas, and they just looked so comfortable and clean. They do have a beauty salon. I didn't see a chapel, but in the paper that they gave me they did talk about religious services. I was glad of that. They did have rehab and activities. They go outside for some activities, exercise, and stuff to keep them busy. I was really impressed. I was a little anxious, a little nervous, but they helped me through that, too. There was a lot of questions. They asked if I had any questions, but I couldn't think of anything then. I called them earlier, to ask my questions, left a message, and let them get back with me.

My daughter and I went to Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home and we were very pleased with the place. We couldn't find anything that we didn't like. It seems homey, there are not that many people in there, but it's just enough not to be overcrowded. The rooms were clean and spacious, and we were very pleased. The owner of the place is a doctor himself, he gave us the tour and we were very pleased. We met their cook and the lady who's been there for 25 years, and we were pleased just like with everything. They have activities like chair exercising, music, and gospel. We like the facility because they had a lot of green plants around everywhere, pictures, it wasn't dreary, it was nice and homey, so we like that.

My wife has moved into Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home. It all seems that they're paying attention and doing their jobs as far as I can tell. I went in several times unannounced just to make sure of that, and so far, everything seems to be good. The upkeep probably needs a little more attention. It seems to be that the temperature in the whole building is not the same. I know in the room where my wife is, it's an individual room, and that room seems to be a little cooler than other rooms. We wear masks every time we go in there. Some of the staff wear masks and some of them don't.

I went to look at Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home. The people were all sitting down and watching TV. It was too quiet to my liking. They have a TV room and dining room. I only spoke to one person. The other staff members were sitting outside in this little courtyard area, while the other room was unattended. They were all taking breaks at the same time.

I toured Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home. It was pretty much a great experience being that the administrator of the facility was very experienced. Everybody in there was a memory care patient. We were just walking through and seeing the patients being very open and very vulnerable. He seemed like he knew how to take care of them. The patients were touchy, but yet they had the freedom to do that. It was a pretty small facility. He showed me a couple of rooms and the rooms were very nice and clean. And I think the fact that he had 30 years of experience with memory care, and he knew so much about the medical needs of patients with memory care sort of fascinated me. I think that my brother would fit in. I saw a menu in the book, and it seemed like the food was pretty well. I did not observe activities, but I did see an activity room where activities take place. The person was very knowledgeable, very professional, warm, and receiving.

Mount Carmel Personal Home was not good. It was old. It was dark. There was carpeting and it had an odor. There were many, many memory care residents that had severe dementia, and I didn't like it. I didn't like the setup. I didn't like it at all. It looked like one, big, winding, dark, old area, and they could walk around. The physician that I talked to was very knowledgeable. It was just the facility, and the fact that there were so many residents. Mount Carmel had like thirty residents, and then the patient to caregiver ratio was ridiculous.

We visited Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home, but it was just a little too far. The owner/operator gave us a tour, it was an older place, and it had like a mold. It was small, dated, and you can tell it was an old facility. The tour though was very well done, and I had a meal there. It had a homey feeling, too.

Mom has moved into Mt. Carmel. They really know how to deal with memory care patients. They're trained specifically for that. The décor is dated somewhat, but it is very clean. The rooms are decorated with antiques, so for someone my mother's age, this is what she is used to and this is familiar to her, so it is actually a good thing. It has a much more homey feel. It seems more like a family environment. I have only eaten there twice and the food is southern country cooking. I am impressed with their activities. They do lots of word games. Everything they do is structured to help their memory stay sharp and for them not to lose anymore of what they have already lost. They engage the residents throughout the day. They don't leave them alone. I feel good about that. My mom is very happy there. She is much happier there than at the last place.

I visited Mt. Carmel Personal Care Home, I wasn't overly impressed with it, but it's a home for people with Alzheimer's. It was clean, older than what I'd like to be, and didn't quite look like the internet picture. They're nice, though. When I got there, most of the residents were watching TV or talking to visitors. When it was lunch time, they sat them all together to have lunch. They were pretty good, gave a little tour, and gave me information. It was kind of business-like.
