I went to Spring Haven Retirement and it was a nice tour. Their assisted living area had a pool outside, which is a nice feature. They had a nice memory care unit. They had an outdoor seating area for them. They had activity rooms and a little garden for the memory care people, which I thought was a nice touch. It looked like they had plenty of activities that go on like puzzles and stuff like that.
The staff during the tour was very friendly. I was really impressed with her. There was like a local Christmas parade already, and they're very active and they're setting up some sort of float. They're going to take the people in the memory care unit on the bus to go in it. It's kind of a nice atmosphere because of the extra Christmas activities. They're at a lower cost than the other place we visited, but it was a little shabbier and not as open.
We saw a semi-private room. I thought it was a nice setup because they actually had two bedrooms that had their own doors and they had a shared bath, so they had their own privacy. They had bingo and a bunch of activities going on. They have their own bus there, so they can take people around.

I went to the memory care of Spring Haven Retirement. I thought the facility was really nice. It's in a beautiful area. Everybody I met was really friendly. It was a very good experience. The dining area was clean. I think you have a selection of a menu, and then you still have choices (which I thought was nice). I know they had Bingo, and I think there was a card game. They had a nice swimming pool, and they had a walking trail actually.

Spring Haven Retirement was a very nice facility, having all 3 different types of care really enhanced their ability, and that's why we wanted to look at it. They had very nice facilities, it seemed a little large, it seemed like the staff was adequate, and they had a lot of activities. The staff was very good, very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The dining area looked very nice, but there was no food service at the time.
