I saw Sun City Senior Living. The tour was OK. I've had no issues with it. However, they weren't furnished, and it's in Hillsborough County, and we wanted to move my mom to Pinellas County. The gentleman was fine. He answered all my questions and was upfront with everything. We only looked at like one room, and it was the basic room they had there. They have a salon and an area where they do activities and stuff like that. I just looked at their memory care. The guy was good.

My husband was at Sun City Senior Living. It was a great place. They were great. They came to my home and did an assessment of my husband and saw us together. I brought him there, and they took really good care of him. It's a small community, and that's what I liked about it. When I went there, they made me feel at home like this was my home, too, and not just his home. You get to know the people that are there and they're like, 'Hi, Miss Nancy.' It's just it was a wonderful place. I would highly recommend it. The food was very good. I had dinner with my husband one night there, and it was very good. It was freshly made every day. They had a chef there that cooked all their meals. They had a lot of activities. They had like happy hour. They weren't drinking, but they would have like a happy hour with a guy who played music like a saxophone. They had bingo, and they had therapy there. They have a lot for their patients there. The place was beautiful. It was clean, neat, and organized. They have places where people could go outside and sit like in an atrium, or they could go out on the front porch, and they had chairs out there and a water fountain. It was a nice place.

My dad moved in to Sun City Senior Living. It is a caring and well-managed place. The community is pleasant. The staff is also dedicated and not a lot of turnover. It's important to me that these people have been there a while. They seem good so far. They have bingo, music, a library, and they play seated soccer.

My aunt is in Sun City Senior Living. It appears to be a good place. When my cousin comes to visit me, he calls my aunt, so we can FaceTime. The staff comes in, and they're very accommodating and gentle as far as saying, "OK, your time is up, you gotta go." I'm very impressed with it. They have a special room that he can meet her with. She seems to be eating well. She likes the fact that it's all cooked for her, and all the problems of preparing a meal are out of her hands now. She started off with one room and moved to another. She really liked the room she was in because it was by the dining room and people would stop by and talk to her. They moved her again, and I don't know how happy she is now.

The Dementia/Alzheimer's wing was lacking in staff to resident ratio. Thankfully the Hospice nurse kept an eye out for my Mom. Last year there was always a turnover in directors, accountants and staff. Maintenance was lacking. The one time I asked for transportation to take her to doctor they failed to arrange it. She had a missed diagnosed rash for 4 months which was only properly diagnosed once we moved her to a different facility. It was Scabies. The staff did not seem trained in how to take care of Alzheimer's people. Rooms were fine and the Activities Director did her best to engage the residents. The rest of the Assisted Living part seemed to be run much better but I don't recommend it for Alzheimer's people.
