I liked Charter Senior Living of Gainesville. Lauren was very helpful. It was nice and clean. We went over the different types of care, and memory care was probably the best for my wife. They would have taken me gradually to the other sections, but we stayed with the memory care and it looked very good in what they had to offer. The rooms were plenty big and nice. We're going to end up bringing our own furniture only because we have it. The staff all seemed to be very friendly. They have scheduled things that they do throughout the day. I did see several residents out doing various things.

We toured Charter Senior Living of Gainesville. The overall facility was well maintained. The surrounding yard space that the residents would be able to use was well kept up but small. The staff was knowledgeable and very helpful as far as answering all our questions. They showed us both the assisted living side and the memory care side. The memory care side was more barebones than their assisted living side, but they still had the same amount of access to food and activities that were held on their side of the buildings. The room that we looked at was a decent studio size similar to a sleeping area, then a small sitting area with a walk-in bathroom with nothing to step over into the shower or anything. From what they told us, their activities looked good. They have scheduled outings for taking the residents to stores, parks, or museums and that sort of thing. They also had game nights and they invited musicians to come and play. They're very similar to the amenities at the other place except for their courtyard and outdoor area that was accessible to the residents was significantly smaller.

#1 Went in one evening late after work and was able to pry open the front doors with my fingers. Waited, saw ants crawling up receptions desk. #2 issue is can't use bed rails. Can't use even one and for a big man who endured 4 strokes he needs help sitting up. The recommended a $300 ring bar but it looks identicle. #3 why does a PCP visit dementia patients after sundown? Things I like, everything and everyone outside the memory unit. Some staff hard either tired or bored. If my dad fell, it would be an hour or more to find him.

We chose Charter Senior Living of Gainesville for my father-in-law because of its location and the general cost. However, there was some important information that was left out when we signed the lease. We weren't aware of certain things that we weren't allowed to do, like using assistive devices such as bed rails and certain things that we needed for our father-in-law. It wasn't until after we had gotten in there that we realized we weren't able to use those items. We've only been in there four days, and he's actually been in the hospital since he got there, so we haven't spent a lot of time with the staff, but the interactions we have had with them have been pretty good. He says that the food is OK and that it's a really nice place.

We went to Brookdale Gainesville Southwest and it was a beautiful place. The staff was really nice and helpful. They even called back to check up on us. It was just we cannot afford that place because they do a la carte, whereas the one that we have put my uncle in, everything is included. It has a beautiful layout and they have pretty nice rooms. It was a nice and clean facility. It's in a good location too, probably within a mile from the hospital.

My brother-in-law has moved in. The staff members are very nice and caring. My brother-in-law's room is very nice. It is just a room with a closet, but he has his own bathroom. I like the flooring because they freshly painted it. His room looks like home. He has been there for over a month now. They have bingo, and they have people come in and perform. My brother loves when people come in and perform because he loves music. They had a cooking demonstration, which was wonderful. They went out on an outing and he really enjoyed that. They also had children come in. They colored pictures for the residents, which was really nice. My brother-in-law wasn't able to have children of his own but he loves children, so that was pretty special having them come in. It was really nice.

My mother is here, and so far it's been okay. She has a nice room. The medicine is all taken care of, and that's part of the service for the memory care. They have a beautician. The dining area is nice. The staff seems very knowledgeable. It's a very nice facility.

My mother-in-law is here. The bedroom is bigger than the place she had been before. We like the whole layout of it, and the people are very helpful and nice. They have a calendar of good activities. She was out watching TV when we went yesterday. They had a separate room for the activities and a place where they could congregate and watch TV. The halls are nice and wide. There's a nice outdoor area and a gazebo.
