I toured Lake House, and I liked the place. It was extremely clean. The staff was pleasant. The tour was very informative. The staff who gave me the tour was Hailey, and she was very good, and kind, and answered all my questions. She showed me the different room sizes that they offer, and they were all very nice. They had private bathrooms. The dining area was very nice. They get assigned seating and every resident orders off of a menu, which I thought was nice. When I got there, the activities director was doing some kind of activity with some residents. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It smelled nice and clean, and it was quiet and comforting.

I did not like Lake House. My mom is still capable of doing certain things for herself, but she can't be left alone. She can't be in a room by herself, shower herself, or get her own medication. What they had to offer for the memory loss was way more advanced than what she is right now. Their memory care facility is in a separate little building. I thought it had a lot to offer. If my mom didn't need nursing care, it would be a good place for her. They have separate rooms. They can add someone to come and give her medications and stuff. She would also need someone to help her or supervise her while she's showering, and that wasn't offered. It was another fee, so it was getting quite expensive without Medicaid. The rooms seemed kind of small, but they were adequate. The activities seemed pretty nice. They had several different things to offer, if somebody was inclined to do that. The place looked clean and nice.

Lake House was very nice. They're on the lake and they even have this outdoor area that's screened in with furniture where mom could sit and look out at the lake and watch the turtles, squirrels, and birds. They have some nice gardens. There's singing and stuff. It was very nice. I liked it. I think she will like it there. It's not too far from home, so it was more appealing. They have both assisted living and memory care. They only have six beds in the memory care, but they have a bed open, so they have something open for immediate. It's very nice. She has dementia and she's pretty severe. She can't do assisted living because she can't dress or go to the bathroom herself. She's not even able to feed herself now, so she has to have full care. The staff was nice and friendly. They don't seem frantic or anything. They seemed very laid back. There was supposed to be another guy there because I couldn't get a price for the complete bottom line. They have a base starting price for memory care of $2600 a month, but that's just the room and board, that doesn't include her additional care as far as feeding her, getting her into a wheelchair, bathing her, and all that kind of stuff because she can't do any of that. I don't know what the exact bottom line is going to be as far as the price goes. It was very clean and they decorate for the seasons. They had it nicely decorated. If I wanted to go and have dinner with my mom there, they have private areas for the family to have dinner with the residents, so that was pretty nice.
