We liked Forest Oaks of Spring Hill, particularly because it was a little smaller, so it had a more personal feel and a little bit more nursing care. We toured the memory care and met with Mona. She's a salesperson and was absolutely wonderful. She touched base with me several times until we decided that we were going to leave mom in the facility she's in because we didn't want to move her right now. She was excellent as far as that goes, and she made me feel comfortable when I visited. She was pretty incredible and I really liked all her personal touches and everything that we talked about. They had small rooms, as well as roommates. At the time, I didn't think I wanted my mom to have a roommate, but now that I know more about Alzheimer's, it's nice to have somebody in your room with you, and I think I now would say that it is definitely a plus for that stage of life. They had all kinds of activities going on, too, and they had a garden area, a craft area, and an area for watching TV. The facility was clean and things looked well cared for. As you go in, the residents are all out and doing things. It seemed to be in order and homey. The staff seemed to know where things were, and if something needed a repair, they had little paper and sheets to fill out. I saw a lady feeding her mother a meal, and she seemed to be enjoying it.

My father moved into Forest Oaks of Spring Hill. It's a little bit far from me to drive, but I didn't like any of them closer to me. Always smiling faces there, it's unbelievable. Every time I call, every time I go in there's just smiling faces, even the residents. My grandfather used to be there 20 years ago, and they're still open and doing good. It's very clean, I've been there at different times of day, and it's always clean. Their food must be good, 'cause I always went at lunchtime, and it smelled so good there. The staff has always been helpful to me anytime I've called, it never felt rushed. Even talking on the phone, they take their time. Even during the virus, they have tried very hard to keep their activities going, especially in the memory care unit. I am looking forward to this being over, because they did have live entertainment and things like that, so animals would come, but because of the virus they're just not able to do some of those things.

I visited Forest Oaks for my sister-in-law because they have a memory section. We liked it. It was very nice. The people were very nice. The facility was clean. All the residents we saw seemed to be enjoying their stay there. It seemed as if they were all very happy. Everything was very nice. They weren't expecting me, but I got full-service immediately. They had people ready, and waiting for anybody coming in to see the facility. They were very accommodating to any, and all of our questions. We saw the rooms that were in the memory care unit. They had some singles, and some doubles. The kitchen staff was appropriately dressed with hairnets, gloves, and outfits; so the kitchen was very clean. I found it to be better than I had thought because they even had men wearing hairnets if they had facial hair. Also, the place had groups that would come in to entertain the people with music, and dancing; I liked that a lot.
