I really liked The Sheridan at Cooper City. The ladies there were exceptional. The young lady, Mandy, helped me so much. She was quite wonderful. The facility was gorgeous. It was absolutely beautiful. It was exactly where you'd want to put a family member. It was well-kept. The staff was lovely. All the people living there were so happy. It was really nice. I did visit the kitchen, and everything looked lovely and smelled delicious. They had a salon, barber shop, and nursing facilities.

We would like to put my mother-in-law at The Sheridan at Cooper City. It was very bright and sunny, and everyone seemed happy. The staff was friendly and it looked very clean. It was a nice place to be in.

We have chosen The Sheridan at Cooper City for my mom. It's terrific. The only downside is that it's pretty expensive, but the care is good. The staff is excellent. The facility itself is fairly new. It's only a couple of years old. It's very close to our vicinity, and it takes maybe less than 10 minutes to get there. The main thing why we went there is that they are allowing visitors whereas, because of COVID, none of the skilled nursing that was recommended for her previous rehab hospital, they would not allow us to tour it, to even look at the facility, and they're allowing no family visitation, either indoor or outdoor. And I thought there's no way I'm going to do that. The staff was very accommodating, very friendly, and very efficient. Some of my mom's room is better than my house. Especially her bathroom, it is bigger and better than my bathroom at home, so I joke with her that I'm going to move in with her. I wasn't expecting it. There's a kitchen area, it has a full refrigerator with freezer and sink, and then there's a sitting room with a sort of like a small sofa and coffee table. Then there's another room, which is the bedroom with a wonderful flat-screen TV, which is pretty big, and then a huge bathroom with a large vanity and a mirror, and you go further, there's a toilet, a walk-in shower and then a big walk-in closet. It is like a homey atmosphere and not a hospital atmosphere. It's clean. They have activities. My mom has a wristband to press if she needs something, and sometimes it does take a long time to get a response on that. That's the only thing I know. The food is good. There is a nice variety. She seems to be happy with the food. Another place is the grounds itself where we can take the patients outside. They have a garden area and also a lake view. You can go outside and see the garden and see the lake. It's beautiful grounds.

I liked The Sheridan at Cooper City as much as the one we ended up choosing, but this one costs a lot more money. It was like a hotel, it's a big apartment complex which is one building. When you walk in it's beautiful with marble floors, and you would see the dining room right away. They have a restaurant type dining room where people could order what they want. They had pretty much everything but I don't think they have a pool. It's very nice, and the setup is you can share an apartment or get your own apartment. The staff was very courteous and very professional. They had an outdoor type area with a garden and they did gardening there. They had a theater room, the dining room was gorgeous with tablecloths and fine china, it's really beautiful. The apartments were very nice, modern and updated, and they're a good size. They had 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and you could share that if you wanted, and they also have studios which was between $6,500 to $7,000 which I was interested in. The studio is basically just a bedroom with a bathroom and a closet. Their rooms were very nice compared to other places I have visited.

The Sheridan at Cooper City wasn't clean and wasn't really geared for memory care. My mom couldn't go outside or anything like that. There's no way for them to go outside unless everybody goes outside, and my mom loves to be outside. That was really important to me that she had a place to be safe while being outside, but this place doesn't offer that. The people in the memory care were more convalescent while my mom is still very active, so that's another downfall. The tour itself was fine. Cleanliness is definitely a big one that they should improve on, the place felt like an institution.
