I went to Brookdale Southside. It was very nice. The staff seemed to be aware of everything going on. I was impressed with the fact that the sales manager knew all of the patients' names; it was impressive. It seemed to be reasonable in cost. It didn't appear to have any hidden costs, which is what we were looking for my mother-in-law. They were very open. They answered all my questions. It was a good fit for a lot of people. In fact, I looked at this place before for assisted living for my own mother at one time. There were a lot of activities for assisted living. It was a clean and friendly environment. Had my mother lived long enough, I'm sure she would have been happy there. They had a beauty shop. With the memory care, they do all the activities right there on that floor, so there's not really a separate room. They have calendars posted as to what the activities will be.
