My father in-law moved into River Ridge last month. The people that we talked to when we first went in and interviewed there were professional. The good thing about it is that the fee includes any level of care that he needs. So, if he doesn't need a whole lot of care, even if he's in a wheelchair or confined to bed, as long as he doesn't need skilled nursing care, he can remain there and the fee stays the same, whereas some other facilities have a graduated scale.
The director of the memory care unit is very caring and very attentive. We just felt like they are really doing a good job looking after him. Because of Covid, we didn't get to see a lot, but I liked the feel of it when we went in and the way it was set up. The maintenance person met us when we delivered the furniture, and he helped my husband unload it. We couldn't go in to set up my father in-law's room, and that person went in and started to help and took pictures for us, so that we could see. I have to deliver some more things after that, and he told me about my father's room and what he'd done.
They always had 1 or 2 nurses who called us about different things. Everybody was on top of things. They've come up with a care plan for him, so I'm just very, very pleased with everything. I know that they had a cooking class that he'd participated in, and the director told us about it. They're having programs for them even though it is Covid, so I think that they're doing good things.

Our family's experience at River Ridge of Avon has spanned 3 years. During that time, our loved one has lived in both the traditional and Memory Care sections. Our overall experience has been very positive with our needs addressed in a timely and professional fashion.
The staff in the Harbor Mind and Memory unit should receive special commendation. Our loved one is treated with respect and kindness every day. The staff truly cares about each resident. During the pandemic, the staff went through extraordinary measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the residents.
We are very pleased.
