I was happy with The Village at Mariner's Point. It was very pleasant, professional, and clean. The director came right out and took me on a tour. I saw the whole facility. I was able to ask a lot of questions, and I didn't feel rushed. It was very nice. I saw the memory care unit for my dad, and then she showed me all the assisted living and the independent living areas. The rooms were really nice because they had like a kitchenette kind of area. They had a balcony that you could put a couple of chairs out on, so I like that. There were a lot of activities, oh my goodness! Just a lot! They have really nice vans to take them places. They had different places to eat. I saw the menus. It was really nice. They had an outdoor garden area to sit and go around, and it's near the water. It's really nice. I also met the gentleman in charge of the memory care unit. They were really helpful and knowledgeable. Another thing is that they followed up with me. The place was very clean. It was not too quiet, but not noisy. The people living there looked happy and pleasant. It was very clean and bright, and there were a lot of windows.

The Village at Mariner's Point was quite expensive and when they needed to add a hoyer lift to my mother's care, they were going to increase the rate by approximately another $5000 a month. It was a large facility. They had a small memory care unit, but it was assisted living in general. It's a very clean and professional environment. The staff was very nice and very caring. The food was very good, and the activities were very good. She was able to partake in activities, but their ability to care for more severe memory care residents was a little bit limited in my view.
