I'm considering Harbor Chase of Evergreen Walk. They have what they call the sound program, which is a transitional program. My brother is at the beginning of dementia, and so they have a program for those people, which is different than memory care. That's the reason why I'm picking them. They have a different program for people like my brother, who's high functioning. My brother can take care of himself, he just has this dementia issue.
If they evaluate my brother and determine that he's at a level for the sound program, he will be placed in a one-bedroom apartment. They have two different types of rooms. They have one room that is what they call a shared room. You have your own completely separate bedroom and then there's a shared bathroom. So there's that, and then they have a studio. Of course, they have an outdoor locked space. Meals are included, too. That would be breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I went to tour HarborChase of Evergreen Walk. It's a new facility. The staff was welcoming and understanding of my mother's situation. It seemed like it was a good place, and it seemed like they were prepared to care for people in my mother's situation. The rooms were large and spacious. They had their own bathrooms. It seemed more like a residence than a hospital setting; it was more like a home than a facility. The staff were very friendly. They had a lot of information, and they satisfactorily answered all questions.

We went to HarborChase of Evergreen Walk. The tour was fantastic. The facility was like a 5-star resort. Everything was beyond expectations. It was just beautiful. It was fancier and better than I expected. The staff during the tour was amazing and super friendly. The memory care woman was just the best. They had all kinds of great programs and they're very involved with the residents. It was very impressive. The food was fantastic. The individual rooms were very spacious. They had a common area and different restaurants within the facility. They went the extra length to personalize the rooms and then showcase each resident.
