My brother was in the Fremont Hills for ten years. He started in assisted living and moved to memory care because he took off. The care was intermittent. There were times that he had good care, but there were times that he was not cared for enough. I always had to talk to the staff and talk to the manager to make sure that his room was clean, to make sure he was bathed, to make sure that his items were washed and put away properly, and that this floor was mopped. So in the past two years, all the staff left. I didn't have any communication with who was in charge of what. It just seemed like everything went downhill at Fremont. The chef changed, the director, the care coordinators, the memory care manager, the receptionist, and the janitorial staff changed. There were a lot of new caregivers. There were only maybe three or four that had stayed. So everything kind of had a big turnover, and it wasn't for the better. He had a room that was facing the street on Mission Boulevard. The sun would go down, so he would get direct sunlight into his room. During the summer, if I didn't remind them to turn the air conditioning on, his room got over eighty five degrees with the hot sun because they would not close his shade. His room was not kept clean. It was very small. He had a studio. The bathroom was small. He did have a little kitchenette with a sink and a small apartment sized refrigerator with some cupboards, so he could keep coffee cups and things. I had to put in a locker to keep items locked up for him because people would come in his room and take his stuff, and things would wind up missing. They were not consistent with activities. The residents had no access to a TV room. They would just wander around, and they wouldn't let them go outside to the patio area. I felt there were a lot of people that had accidents there. My brother fell twice there.
