We saw Atria Grand Oaks. It was the one where the prices were way beyond our budget. We thought it was extremely high and unreasonable. I thought they were average until the staff told me what the price would be (which was different than the price she had quoted me online). She didn't realize it was memory care, so she quoted me the price for the assisted living, which was much less. Once she gave me the sheet that showed me what memory care would be, my first remark was, 'This is way out of our budget. This is not what you quoted me.' It kind of colored the rest of the tour knowing that she had given me the wrong price to begin with. We didn't really want to go on the tour because we were not going to pay $8,000 for a studio apartment. The place looked fine. It looked very elegant. It looked like a hotel as well. We didn't like the rooms. The rooms looked older, and they were carpeted. My mom is in a wheelchair, so it would be very difficult for her to get around. It had strange design, too.

My husband will be moving into Atria Grand Oaks. I really like it; it's a cheerful, pretty place. They had a nice area for memory care, and they offer a dining program. The food is delicious. I am very impressed by them. The staff is wonderful. They have a little bit of everything, like newspapers, various kinds of exercises, mind games, bingo, and physical therapist who is going to work with my husband because he has Parkinson's. They have everything he needs there.
