We visited Pacifica Senior Living. It was very informative, they were very friendly and we like the set-up there particularly the memory care unit we were interested in for my mom. They took us there and introduced us to the staff. People were nice and very friendly. We saw a few different accommodations there. We were particularly interested in that place because they take the assisted living waiver because my mom is with Medicaid, but apparently it takes a lot of time. I actually applied online, they gave us the name of one of the companies that does it, we called, talked to them and filled out a form, but the person that was doing that kind of process they said the wait is 2 years. They showed us the shared apartment which is great because it has 2 separate rooms and 1 shared bathroom. They told us if my mom qualifies for that waiver that's the only kind of accommodation that she could have by Medicaid standards. She has to have shared room but that's not like one room shared by two occupants. It's like an apartment of 2 rooms so that was great. They showed us the studio which is also very nice, and everything looked very nice. We visited them during lunch time and the residents of that memory care unit were having lunch there. There were very nice bunch of people so that was pretty good. It's just that right now, we're not ready to move my mom anywhere else. Without that Medicaid waiver, it's a lot more money than what we're paying now with that private little board and care place where she is, and I think it's more personalized where she is right now. But certainly, for the future if it's necessary we're keeping that place in mind. The lady who gave us the tour, I think the marketing director, her name was Karleen, she was really great and helpful.

The staff is extremely helpful. There haven't been as many activities as there normally would during COVID, so I haven't had a chance to rate that, but the facility in general is very clean and well maintained. The rooms are much brighter and larger than the previous place my mom stayed at.

When our brother needed to move into Memory Care, we were given many options for places to visit. After seeing 2 other places, we knew Pacifica Senior Living in Escondido was exactly what we wanted for him. The rooms are spacious, the common area is inviting, and the beautiful outside grounds are well sized for walking and visiting. There are challenges with all Memory Care patients, and the staff handle our brother professionally and with empathy. They know what works best for our brother. He really likes the food and enjoys all his interactions with the other residents. Every day, we are thankful that our brother is at Pacifica with the nurses who take care of him.

So very pleased with the community and staff. Jackie, Amy and Carline go above and beyond and we dont know what we would have done without them. It is a scary situation when you have to find a memory care community and don't know what to do. Unfortunately the first home we found was not going to work. It was very close to our house but they had no social activities or proper care for our mom. Thank goodness for Pacifica Senior Living Escondido! From the moment we called Amy was amazing. She walked us through the maze of doctors papers, rooms, contracts, everything! It was very overwhelming to say the least and she never left our side. We are forever grateful for the thoughtful staff and friendly community. We highly recommend them and we visit every week.

I chose Pacifica Senior Living Escondido for my sister because when we did the interview, they seemed to be a good fit. They had the location that we were looking for, and they had a room in the right location that's easy for her to access everything. The staff was very caring, but they had trouble following the dietary orders. She was on a special diet, and they said they could provide it but they could not. We talked about it a couple of times, but I don't think it has been fully resolved. For following the diet, I would rate them a 2. But for presentation and everything, they're fine I ate there and it was good. My sister is in the memory care level, there wasn't much variety in the activities there as I expected.

My husband is a resident of Pacifica Senior Living Escondido. We chose this place because it's related to Meridian and is run by the same people. The rooms are nice, and they have very friendly staff. They have activities in the memory care unit, like going on outings on Tuesdays and Thursdays to get them away from the place for an hour or so. The food is like what you'd have at home. They also have a nice green belt so the memory folks can go outside and not have to stay indoors all the time. We also bring our two small dogs so they could run around on the green belt and the residents played with them. In Pacifica you would get the most for your money. The memory care areas in other places are industrial and not as nice as their assisted living areas, but it's not that way in this community.
