Eskaton Village Placerville was very clean and well-run. They were very thorough in our checking in and out of the place. It looked like they took really good care of their residents. It was just a little too expensive. The staff was very nice and thorough and when I left there, I pretty much understood exactly how the whole thing works there with my father and how they take care of these old people. The room got a little bedroom and there was a big bathroom in the bedroom and there was a camera in there in case one of them fell or anything, so they could kind of keep an eye on them even though nobody else is there with them. There was also a bathroom down the hallway, and the showers were very large. They said that you could bring some personal items into the room if you wanted to. I was impressed with it. The receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and the woman that took us on the tour was very friendly. It was all in very good condition, nice, and clean.

I went to Eskaton Village Placerville. It's close to where I live. It's kind of in the mountains. They have a wonderful grown atmosphere. It's lovely with trees and it's a little bit more mountainous characteristic. The whole atmosphere was warm and just very giving. The people who gave me the tour were just really friendly and open. We talked about what my needs would be and my concerns, and so they were very thorough in making me comfortable with what my needs would be and met. The rooms are fine. They had wonderful activities. They like to get the residents out into the general community area. They keep them busy. All of them don't have to do one activity. They have a variety of activities for the levels of dementia or levels of memory loss. They have everything from walks around the facility to bingo, to mind activities, to puzzles, to pizza making, to all the kinds of things that will keep a person active and make them feel comfortable. The memory care has its own kitchen and dining room, and they had their own pizza-making day, and it was just fun. There must have been eight residents there, and they all had their own pizzas they can make. It was a fun activity. Everybody looked very, very happy. It wasn't like they were dragging them out of the room to go like, 'Okay, you sit here, and you play bingo whether you want to or not.' They were optional activities. There are more advanced activities for the ones that aren't quite that loss of memory. They have the choices, and they would help them make choices if necessary. It was wonderful. They just made me feel warm, they could see my concerns and they were just very compassionate.

Eskaton Placerville Memory Care was the fourth and last place my father lived with advanced Alzheimer's. They were by far the best. Their caregivers really do care and respond quickly to any request or issue. They respect and engage with residents - even if they are wondering the halls in the middle of the night or are agitated. They make sure they are nourished, kept clean and comfortable. It takes a very special person to work with residents with this cruel disease. I hold them in the highest regard. They helped my Dad and my family to the very end of his journey. I will never forget their support for me in my Dad's final moments. I am eternally grateful.

Wonderful place. My mother has been through all levels of care here, and at present is in memory care. It is very much her home and the staff is very kind.

Our mother has been a resident at Eskaton Village Placerville for 7 years, mostly in Memory Village. It is difficult having a loved one with dementia, but everyone at Eskaton Village Placerville has made it the best possible experience. It's a really nice place to visit. EVP has beautifully decorated, comfortable, and inviting spaces, and it is always clean. The RCAs are respectful and caring, as is the rest of the staff. If medical care is needed, the staff is great, working with us and doctors. There is plenty of activity for those up to it. We are happy to have our mother live here.

My wife is in the memory care center and is receiving good care. She appears to be comfortable with the staff and her home there. I think she has good support and is well cared for by an excellent group of caregivers.

Everything is amazing at EVP. Just driving up Blair Lane to the facility puts you in the mood to enjoy your visit. The setting is beautiful and serene. The management staff and caregivers are cordial, very friendly and ready to help. My wife is in the Memory Care Unit, suffering from Alzheimer's disease and is treated with all the care and respect a queen would deserve.
