My dad has moved into Sunrise of Bonita. I like that they individually help the patients. The rooms are average-sized, and the place is well-kept and clean. The dining area is wonderful. There are all kinds of activities for them. They sing, dance, and do gardening; they do all kinds of things. The staff is well-mannered and trained, and they pretty much know what to do. They have a patio. They have gardening and a place where you can book a picnic area. They have a very friendly staff. They were accommodating and take care of my dad very well. I did not taste the food, but I know they do a very good job of having fresh items.

Sunrise of Bonita didn't seem like there was enough staff. Especially with memory care, what if someone walked out of their room or locked out the door? They did have the alarm systems, but it just didn't feel like there was a good presence of staff. The rooms are small, but they don't need to be big. They had like a sunroom, so there were people just kind of sitting, but nobody was engaging with them.

My mother-in-law already moved to Sunrise of Bonita. I like that it's on the small side, and that she would get really good care. I liked all of the people that we met. They were very very good, very helpful, and everything that we needed to do to get her in there. In the memory care unit they have bible studies, they have bingo, flower arranging, and baking classes. They have a lot of stuff if she wants to participate.

I love Sunrise of Bonita; however, they didn't have a bed available when we went down there. It was beautiful. What I like about it was that they talk to everybody, they had trips out, and they knew everybody's name. All of the people who were in there really seemed to like the people that they were talking to. They felt like they were friends as much as their caretakers. They had community dogs that were trained to be with the residents. You can have your own dog in there if you want, but they have these dogs that come around. It was nice and very calming for the people. They had a beautiful place and I like the people that I talked to. All the people who were in there acted like they really liked it, too. They gave us a meal, and their food was very good and tasty. They were something that you would really want to eat. They also had a couple of different things you could order. Their facilities were far superior to others.
