About This Community

We are an assisted living community that is dedicated to the care of residents with dementia. Our community, located on North McDowell Blvd. in Petaluma, is uniquely designed to navigate easily and offer a familiar feel with protected areas for residents to enjoy. There are many windows throughout the halls and common areas. Additionally each resident suite offers a large window to bring in ample natural light and includes direct access to a beautiful, open-air courtyard. The landscaped courtyard is secured on all sides, so residents can enjoy this space on their own or in the company of friends.

We develop and implement a plan of care for each resident individually, ensuring that we meet not only the physical care needs but, their social and family engagement needs as well. We offer amenities such as on-site physician visits, podiatry care, mobile dental services and an onsite beauty salon. Since helping people with cognitive changes is our specialty, our entire staff is focused on the specific needs of our residents.

I went to MuirWoods Memory Care. I like that they do activities every day, and everything was very clean. I like the way the building was structured, so that the residents can look out, but it's an enclosed area with a garden, so it's very pretty. It was a good tour. The staff was very professional and just answered all the questions that I had.

My mom is in MuirWoods Memory Care. The community is vibrant, caring, attentive, and flexible. My mom's room is comfortable and able to make it like home. I think they have good quality food. They are attentive to dietary needs or requirements for food. The dining area is kind of the center hub of the community there because, after meals, they do their activities there. They have exercise, mentally stimulating games, and games that keep them physically moving. They have enrichment-type things like music, old movies, celebrations, and art. On the weekends, they take the bus and drive around the area, which is nice to get a new change of perspective.

Everybody at MuirWoods Memory Care was very helpful and kind. The woman who led me on a tour was very knowledgeable and very friendly. The environment was nice. They had pictures of the residents when they were young on the walls outside their rooms. It is totally designed with the objective of reminding you that these people are still human.

MuirWoods Memory Care struck me as being the most family-oriented, warm, and friendly environment I stepped into. There's a group of men who loves to work in the garden. The sales director would greet each resident by name and they seemed to brighten up because they knew him. It felt very homey and good. The custodial director said it's the best place he's ever worked in. It's a really great place. It's older, but they're renovating it.

He's staying at Adobe House Memory Care Community, and it has been wonderful. It's for memory care, only so it's restrictive in that sense. It's relatively small, and it's very nice. They've been working really well with him.

My overall impression of Adobe House is very good, so far. I went to take a walk around and meet some people, so it was really nice. There was a gym, but I didn’t see a pool. There were quite a few activities, which was really neat, like art, aerobics, and singing.

We've been at Adobe House Memory Care a couple of times for a visit. It's a nice facility dedicated to people with Alzheimer's. The staff is very friendly and have been good with doing follow-up calls.

Adobe House has the most loving care staff. Many of them have worked there for years; there is very little turnover which makes a big difference for me and my family. They have great knowledge and understanding of dementia and had plenty of resources to help me and my family through the journey. My loved one was happy and always in the activity room with her "neighbors". Even when she was no longer able to communicate, she was still part of the daily activity. It was a great experience.

I am looking for a facility for my father who has dementia. I toured Adobe House and was very impressed. The whole facility is dedicated to Dementia and Alzheimer's . There are 35 units and there is courtyard so the patients cannot get to the door that leads outside. I was also pleased that they introduced me to the chef. They have a real emphasis on nutrition and use all local produce. The staff is very nice and friendly. They go around and check on the residents every hour.
