We saw the Yorkshire Village's memory care. When we went in, there was a large room where they eat and also where they have activities. They had a TV in there and ladies were watching because there was something special on that day. Another lady was doing, I think, needlepoint. I saw a man that was walking and I guess they were walking him around the building because I kept seeing him come back around. My husband likes to walk too so I liked that. They had another room that was a TV room where they could just go in, sit, and watch TV. The place was quiet and there were other places where they could sit outside in the shade. They had little patios with people sitting outside during our visit and everybody seemed friendly. The person who was supposed to show us around wasn't available so someone else showed us around. She seemed to know everybody's name and they knew her. She spoke to them and I thought that was nice.

I went to Yorkshire Village. They were very open to answer all my questions. The director gave me lots of information and she told me how to access government services to look into additional funds. I appreciate that. They accept Medi-Cal waiver programs. The rooms were substandard as far as I'm concerned. I was able to walk by rooms that had occupancy. They were clean, but considering where my sister is right now, it is not a place she would be comfortable in. The overall living atmosphere was very basic and not appealing. I didn't see any activities. There was one resident in a wheelchair at the gate looking out onto the parking lot. The facility is just very basic, sparsely furnished, and kinda dreary. I think it's because the building is very old. I didn't see anybody engaged in activities at all. I already knew that I wasn't interested in it because it looked institutional to me and I know my sister would not accept it. The staff was great and personable and she answered all my questions.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Yorkshire Village and the staff. My mom moved into Yorkshire Village memory care on March 1, 2021. She has been unhappy at her last two living facilities, but she seems so much happier and more settled since moving in. Amelia, Emma, and all the staff have made the transition so smooth for my mom. They treat her so well, painted her nails and included her in the activities (Bingo). They facilitated my mom's recent doctor's appointment and made sure she was on the correct medications. I am so grateful to Amelia for easing all of my worries during this difficult time. She made the transition painless and stress free for both my mom and myself; I am confident my mom is getting the best care and her needs are being met. I highly recommend Yorkshire Village if you are looking for compassionate and competent caregivers for your loved one.

Yorkshire Village was good but it wasn't for my dad. Most of the residents were bedridden or in chairs. My dad is active and I needed something a little bit more for him. I didn't have a very good feeling about it. It was a very nice-looking place but the aura was not good. It didn't appeal to me. The staff who assisted me was very nice, very professional, and very helpful. However, the only activity I saw were people in chairs watching TV. Also I didn't care for the smell of the place.
