On the occasions I have visited Sakura Gardens, I have found the facility to be impeccably clean and was impressed by the friendly and caring staff. Most importantly is that my aunt is always smiling and cheerful, a good sign of the care she is receiving. Shin, in particular, is always helpful and makes sure our questions are answered.

My mother has been a resident in Sakura Gardens Los Angeles Memory Care Unit since March 2021. She has adjusted quickly after her transition from home. The Memory Care Unit is clean and bright. The caregivers are very friendly and warm and frequently give me updates when I visit. My mother has made friends with some of the residents and is always in good spirits when I visit. It is very reassuring to know my mother is in good hands with people who really care about her well being. I am grateful to the staff at Sakura Gardens Los Angeles Memory Care Until.

My husband has been a resident in the memory care unit since it opened in the fall of 2019. His sister was a resident at the assisted living facility since the fall of 2018 and moved into the memory care unit this spring. They have been happy there. The staff is friendly and attentive and enjoy my husband’s sense of humor. The staff lead and participate with the residents in art projects and cards among other activities. The staff work well together and are willing to help. They call me as needed if there is an issue and put my husband or sister in law on the phone as necessary. The rooms are clean and kept organized. They have a health care professional trim their toenails monthly for a small fee which is much appreciated. We love walking around the grounds, it’s easy to push my husband in a wheelchair and we see other residents using walkers. We enjoy seeing the koi and seeing and hearing the waterfalls and the variety of flowers which attract butterflies. My sister in law meets friends from the other facility before and after meals and they enjoy talking together.

Sakura Gardens provides a positive and nurturing environment for senior living, especially in the Legacies/Memory Care unit where my mother resides. The facility is bright, airy and clean. The shared room are fairly spacious and upkept very neatly. The staff is well-organized, trained and very caring. Beyond the level of care that I deem to be at a very high level, the reinforcement of the Japanese culture and heritage in the facility is a huge plus for my mother and comforting for the family, knowing she is in a place that offers familiarity to her heritage. The Japanese cuisine that is offered in addition to its normal Western menu along with the various cultural activities allow the residents to feel comfortable in the surroundings and a peaceful setting to live out their final years. Our family has noticed that our mother is visibly happy there and socializes with the other residents and staff. We are grateful to have such a facility serving our community. Transitioning my mother to a sr. living facility was difficult, but knowing that Sakura Gardens would provide the proper amenities and environment for her, gave us peace of mind.

My mother-in-law moved into Sakura Gardens at Los Angeles memory care. It is a community that caters to the Japanese-American community. The facility itself is located in a gated, secure space. They have Japanese koi ponds there, which are really nice for the Japanese-Americans that are residents there. Overall, the grounds are really well kept. The gardens and everything is really, really well kept and up-to-date. That was one of the things that was really attractive for her (even though she is in memory care, not assisted living). They also have an assisted living part of the Sakura Gardens; but she's in the memory care unit, which is a separate section. Overall, it's a very nice and a very welcoming environment. The staff has been wonderful. Being it's memory care, it's a different level of care. We are very pleased with the care that's being given to my mother-in-law. There are no issues with the care. Care has been great. They try to get all of the residents out as much as they can to participate in watching movies, playing cards amongst themselves, and supervising them if there are activities as a group (which I think is very important for my mother-in-law). Even though she's got issues with memory, it's good stimulation and a good environment for her to be in. They have card playing, art projects, watching TV together, and playing cards. She's been there for about four weeks, and it's been great. The food is great because it's geared more toward the Japanese-American community. There's rice, and today it was teriyaki beef. It was geared more toward that population, so the food has been great.

Sakura Gardens of Los Angeles was a very good place especially for memory care service. We liked that, but their fee was so expensive. They had a private garden for memory care, and the facility was so clean. It's one of the best. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable, explained everything from the monitoring to the menu. She showed me the rooms and the restrooms, and there were two persons per room.
