Oakmont of Lodi is the best match for my father. He likes being outside and they had a large outdoor area in the memory care that he could go to and that he could utilize. They don't have a washer and dryer in the apartments in memory care. They don't have any appliances at all in memory care. They do their laundry for them. The dining area was great and the food choices looked good. The staff was very friendly and informative. They showed us around and it was during dinner, so we saw the food, but we didn't try it. We looked at a private room and a shared room, and they were both pretty spacious. I saw the pool. In memory care, they just have a little patio they can walk out on.

My father moved into Oakmont of Lodi. The food is really good. The rooms are really good and spacious. They have a lot of activities. They have different games for the residents, like puzzles, karaoke, a lot of musicals, and some kind of driving game. They have a pool and hot tub. There seem to be a lot of turnovers, so it's somebody different all the time. The only thing is probably just the number of staff they have, and they're not super communicative. I have to hunt somebody down to ask something.

My father-in-law has moved into Oakmont of Lodi. The most I liked about it is that they're very active and friendly. They can go outside, and they have a lot of activities. It's like a small family. It feels like you get to know people as there are a lot of people, families, visiting their loved ones. You get to know the extended family too. It's brand new, clean, and interactive. There's storytelling, games, music, and gardening. They have a community hour. They encourage people to get out and sit at the tables. There's an aviary there. There's a nurse's station for if you need to get up and get to work; that is, you can go get dressed as if you're preparing to go to work. There's also a station where you can put your address on television, and you can act like you're driving home. It's electronic, an artificial intelligence kind of thing. The overall care would be a four. It's probably no fault of anybody; it's just that my father-in-law fell in that in-between stage of almost being capable of living on his own, but not quite. We thought that he would have more help in the assistant care because that's what we were led to believe. But they are not set up to provide as much help as we thought they could. So, he moved into memory care, where there's a tremendous amount of help now. The food was pretty good. They do promote music and community hour. In the assistant care, they have painting, puzzles, and kind of a community table for art and stuff. In memory care, a lot is going on at all times, for what the memory care people can tolerate.
